"Tabasco Bottle." Watercolor and Pigma Micron 03 & 05 pen, in Aquabee Super Deluxe 808 sketchbook, 6" x 9" (15.2 x 22.9 cm).
I'm now a great lover of spicy food and hot sauce, but it hasn't always been that way. Several years ago, my wife and I bought a beans & rice dinner at the grocery store; the box also contained a very tiny (about a 1.25" tall) bottle of Tabasco sauce. We prepared the dish per the directions, but purposely left out the Tabasco. Upon tasting it, it was bland; I figured the makers must have intended that the Tabasco be included. So, I carefully put in a little of the hot stuff. To my surprise, the dish came alive with flavor! I've been a big fan of Tabasco sauce ever since, adding it to soups, stews, chili, or just about anything that seems to need a little kick.
