Watercolor Sketch - Cades Cove, TN

Watercolor Sketch - Cades Cove, TN

Watercolor in Canson Montval All-Media sketchbook, 90-lb CP paper, page approx. 9" x 12", sketch 6" x 9" (15.2 x 22.8 cm).

We were in the Knoxville, TN area, near Great Smokey Mountain National Park, over the Memorial Day holidays, and it reminded me of a trip we took to the park a few years ago. So, in tribute, I dug out a photo I took on a previous trip and did a sketch from the photo reference.

I've photographed there, but I must have stuck closer to the road. This is charming.

Fantastic! Looks just like the cove! I'm fortunate enough to live in Knoxville, so it's just an hour or so drive from me - and I'm going next weekend to camp there! You've captured the gorgeous light that drifts into the cove - perfection, indeed!
