Frank: Good point! Even though it was hot, the humidity allowed the paper to stay adequately wet to work with it. Uncomfortable for me, but the paper seemed to like it. :)

Thanks. I'll look into that book. We winged-it sort of and watched some great YouTube Videos, but I'm trying to sharpen up my technique and tools. I'm very happy with the sketchbook that came out of our Meetup event

Definitely gives me more satisfaction than the store-bought books.

Hi, I'm Steve's sister Nancy. This is for Brian who asked about making handbound sketchbooks. For Steve's sketchbooks, I used the directions in the book by Sue Doggett: Bookworks: Books, Memory and Photo Albums, Journals and Diaries Made by Hand (1998), which was reissued in 2008 as The Bookbinding Handbook. Her directions are step by step and very thorough.

Had fun! You should stop by if you're ever in St. Louis. Yes, all the pieces in Citygarden are of this modern style.
